Thousands in Russia protested against the Ukraine war. The police detained hundreds of protesters on Thursday. They also detained over 1,700 people gathered in the former imperial capital Saint Petersburg, where many were detained by masked police officers. The anti war protests have gathered steam in Russia as protests were reported from dozens on Russian cities according to an independent monitor report.
