Ishan Kishan’s 89-run knock helped India defeat Sri Lanka by 62 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series.
With this triumph, India has now won ten straight matches and is only two wins away from being the Test-playing nation with the most consecutive wins in T20Is.
Along with Iyer, Shreyas Iyer and skipper Rohit Sharma both performed admirably, scoring 44 and 57* respectively to help India reach a challenging 199 in 20 overs
After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Sri Lanka never seemed to be in the game.
Even in the chase, they lost a wicket in the first delivery, and no other Lankan batter got going until Charith Asankala. With a score of 53, Asalnaka came out on top. Sri Lanka could only manage 137 runs in 20 overs
The second T20I between the two teams will take place on February 26 in Dharamshala.
