President Ram Nath Kovind, the Supreme Commander of the armed forces, is reviewing the Indian Navy’s fleet on February 21, in Visakhapatnam. The 12th Presidential Fleet Review kicked off with a 21-gun salute.
During the review, the President will take stock of the strength of the Indian Navy’s fleet. It will also feature a flypast, with several advanced aircraft, such as MiG 29-K.
The latest inductions in the Indian Navy, warship INS Visakhapatnam and submarine INS Vela, are part of the Presidential Fleet Review.
A total of 60 warships, submarines and coast guard submarines from the Presidential yacht, INS Sumitra will be reviewed by the President.
A 40-nation naval exercise, ‘Milan’, will follow the review from February 25.
