Captain Rohit Sharma’s team India became the No. 1 side in ICC T-20I team rankings after they defeated West Indies 3-0 in Kolkata on Sunday. India was previously No. 1 in the format under MS Dhoni’s leadership from February 12, 2016 to May 3, 2016.
India over took reigning No. 1 side England for the top spot. While India & English are both tied at 269 on the rating front, India has more points than the English side, making them board leaders.
Pakistan sit at No. 3 & New Zealand are placed at 4th position on the Ranking table. Australia are currently languishing at number 6 position behind South Africa at No. 5.
India was last defeated in the 2021 T20 World Cup group stage by New Zealand.
