On Monday, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced on Twitter that the government has decided to cancel the REET 2021 Level 2 exams after the paper leak controversy. The exam of Level 1 will be considered as it is, while only the level 2 exams will be re-conducted.
In his tweet, Gehlot mentioned, “The level-1 process will continue as before. Now there will be recruitment for a total of 62,000 posts in both levels. Youth should be rest assured, the state government is fully standing by in their interest.”
While assuring aspirants that due action against the culprits will be taken, he also announced that ‘30,000 more vacancies under Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teacher (REET) will be released.’
REET was held on September 26, 2021, during which 5 people were arrested for cheating and malpractices. Up until now, 36 people including REET Jaipur District Coordinator Pradeep Parashar have been arrested by, Special Operation Group (SOG) in the paper leak controversy.
