IND vs WI 2022, 1st ODI, Live Score: India have won the first ODI against W. Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India scored 178 for 4 with 22 overs to spare.
India had a steady start to their inning while chasing a target of 177 runs against the Windies.
A quick fire 60 runs from Rohit Sharma, his 44th ODI fifty helped put India in a strong position. The India captain along with Ishan Kishan added 84 runs for the first wicket. Rohit got out on 60 in 51balls and soon after his dismissal Virat Kohli too returned to the pavilion on 8 in the same over by Alzarri Joseph. Ishan at 28 in 36 balls and Rishabh Pant at 11 in 9 balls were the other batters to be dismissed. Deepak Hooda scored 26 in 32 balls and Surya Kumar scored 34 in 36 balls. Alzarri Joseph took two wickets for the Windies and Akeal Hosein has bagged one.
Earlier, West Indies were bowled out for 176 in 43.5 overs. The visitors weren’t at their best while batting, except for Jason Holder, who smashed 57 runs off 71 balls.
Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal was the top wicket taker and took four wickets for India. Washington Sundar bagged three wickets, Mohammed Siraj took one and Prasidh Krishna took two wickets.
