The Health Ministry asked the National Board of Examinations to postpone NEET PG 2022 by six to eight weeks. This move came after the consideration of NEET PG 2022 exams being clashed with NEET PG 2021 counselling. Also, many of the interns would not have been able to participate in the PG counselling 2022 in May-June, due to this.
On February 4th, 6 MBBS students sought postponement of the National Eligibility- Entrance Test (NEET-PG) 2022, by filing a petition in the Supreme court. Earlier the exam was scheduled to be held on March 12 which is now postponed for 6-8 weeks.
This has given a sigh of relief to the students whose pleas were pending in front of the Apex court.
However, this direction has still not given any clarity on the internship periods. Candidates alleged that they were put on Covid duty and hence were not able to complete one year of the deadline. The plea in front of SC also sought an extension of the deadline of completion of the internship from May 31.
