The weather has taken a turn in Himachal Pradesh. Snowfall is occurring in the high altitude areas including Shimla city, Upper Shimla, Lahaul Spiti, Kinnaur.
Manali has also received fresh snowfall. At the same time, it is raining heavily in the low lying areas. In all the districts including Mandi, Kangra, Solan, Chamba, Kullu, it is raining since Wednesday night.
The Meteorological Department has forecast rain and snowfall in the state till February 6 and has issued a yellow alert. According to the Lahaul Spiti Police, the Leh Manali Highway is closed due to snowfall and it is snowing continuously. There is about 1 feet of snow on the road and no vehicles are allowed.
