Thane: Three people were arrested on Tuesday allegedly with 1,000 gelatin sticks and an equal number of detonators in Bhiwandi in Thane district, police said.
According to the police, a Maruti Eco car was intercepted at Nadi Naka area under Nizampura police station in Bhiwandi.
The police are investigating where the explosives and detonator were being taken.
Acting on a tip off, a car was stopped at Nadi Naka and the seizure was made from Pankaj Acchelal Chouhan, Balya Hiraji Patil, Sameer, all residents of Vikramgad in neighbouring Palghar district, an official said.
Further investigation is underway.
