The FIFA world cup is a megaevent that attracts millions of people from around the world, so events like this can promote the spread of covid-19 not just in Qatar, but worldwide.
Even though mandatory vaccination, regular covid-19 testing, before matches and other covid-19 precautions and protocols are in place to tackle the spread of the virus. At a time when the pandemic has deepened vulnerabilities and inequities, it is more than ever important to ensure everyone of all ages and abilities can have access to safe sports.
FIFA has already started selling tickets to the stadiums where the games will take place, which has raised concerns about the scale of the tournament. The tournament will be held from Nov. 21 to Dec 18, 2022.
